In 2012 her year, she received gold in the team competitions as well as the floor exercise. In the balance beam, Raisman earned the bronze medal. In 2012, she became the very first American athlete to win the most medals during the Olympics. In 2016, the Olympics brought her gold in the team event, earning Gabby and Gabby the distinction as the first Americans ever to win consecutive gold medals for a team. The silver medals she won came from the floor individual and all-around event. After the second Olympics, she was off for three years from gymnastics. Also, she has been part of two gold medal winning world championship teams. Gymnastics was her first sport since age two, and her favourite event is Floor Exercise. Aly is an active member of the Uniting Against Lung Cancer organisation to honor her mother, who died from cancer. She hopes to become a fashion designer and expand the range of her leotards and socks in the coming years. Fierce is a novel she plans to release later in the year.
